Working around the festive and environmental calendar of the seasons gives us a year-round framework for events and other activities.
At Deveron Projects we often walk to bring people and places together, generating conversations and exchange. It also gives time and space to think through problems.
The Walking Institute explores, researches and celebrates the human pace by bringing walking and other journeying activities together with arts and other cultural disciplines and people from all walks of life.
The sharing of food is a great leveler. Having a meal together is one of the best conduits for friendship and the exchange of ideas.
On Fridays, we invite people to speak about topics that relate to art, their travels, gardening and other walks of life. At 1pm our little team, the artists and who ever else wants to join us, have lunch together. Normally we cook vegetarian and attempt to use local produce–from our garden when possible.
Visitors make a contribution of £2. All are welcome!
Want to join us for Friday lunch or fancy giving a talk? Just give us a ring to check it is on and to find out what is happening. Tel: 01466 794494.
On the first Saturday of the month the town square in Huntly plays host to the Farmers' Market. The market was set up to support local businesses, providing them with a low cost opportunity to sell their produce. Believing that the area has a wealth of excellent food producers and craft makers, the market aims to encourage people to buy locally, to reduce food miles and support the area's economy.
At each Farmers' Market we set up our Seasonal Cafe where we attempt to create a platform for the sharing of skills and knowledge and an opportunity for folk to sit down and have a chat while they shop. In response to season and what is available locally, each market we try to share a new skill, highlight a particular recipe or create an opportunity for discussion of a particular topic.
Join us on the first Saturday of the month in the Square. Keep an eye on the website and social media for details of what we are up to each market.

The Town is the Garden is a community food growing project begun in 2017. The project is run by two gardeners in residence and our green coordinator.
