Jake Williams

Aldivalloch Diorama, 2018

The Grouse Inn, Cabrach

Diorama

In early 2013, Jake Williams walked the river Deveron from source to sea, gathering tunes, ballads and melodies that relate to the river and its surroundings. He also played in a number of pubs along the route, including the Grouse Inn.

Musicians always added significance to their songs by locating the action in a well-known local place. Collaged here are the lyrics and music to ‘Roy’s Wife of Aldivalloch’, a song that originated from the Cabrach.

Jake’s collection of tunes ‘Singing the Deveron’ is available as a book from Deveron Projects.
